--We agree! If you haven't noticed we love the outdoors. Outdoor livin', outdoor lovin' and life on the luxury road. So great to enjoy and travel with like minded people. Enjoy this by Brooke Willson.
Nature can be the best matchmaker. It’s funny how you always seem to find what you’re looking for when you spend time outdoors. Go camping, hiking, skydiving, and I guarantee you will meet some amazing people! You’ll find outdoorsy people very kind, helpful, and adventurous (for the most part).
Here are 10 reasons why you should date an outdoor guru:
1) They are low maintenance.
They don’t demand a great deal of attention. It doesn’t take them very long to get ready before leaving the house, and they prefer the ‘natural’ look. For the girls, make up, hair products, curling irons, blow dryers, and other beauty products are rarely used, if at all. For guys, a quick rinse and a hat often does the trick. With a closet that consists of 90% outdoor gear, it doesn’t take long to long to decide what to wear ‘out on the town’. If they’re spending too much time getting ready that means less time outside. Besides, ‘self confidence is the best outfit a person can wear’– dapper dexterity.
2) They are always up for a challenge.
The outdoors provides numerous opportunities for challenge. The activities you can partake in are endless. Whether it’s kayaking, biking, hiking, mountaineering, mountain climbing, skiing, snowboarding, or trail running. You name it, they want to do it. When it comes to each sport, lets dial up the intensity! More difficult rapids, longer rides, harder courses, higher peaks, more difficult terrain, and more intense weather conditions. They have goals and will push themselves and want to be pushed by you. ‘blessed are the curious, for they shall have adventures’ –Lovalle Drachman
3) They’re flexible.
They have a ‘go with the flow’ type attitude and will understand that not everything always goes as planned, whether it is due to weather and road conditions, trail reports, unexpected life ‘happenings’, illness or injury which may hinder original plans. As long as they’re getting to spend the majority of their time outside in the fresh air, they are in good spirits. ‘you don’t always need to have a plan, sometimes you just need to breathe, trust, let go, and see what happens.’ –mandy hale
4) They take care of themselves.
Eating healthy and working go hand in hand with being an outdoor enthusiast. In order to produce the best results in whichever sport, they must fuel their body correctly and get a good nights rest in order to provide themselves with the energy you need to accomplish their goals. Fresh air also has numerous health benefits – for both their physical and mental well-being. Bottom line – they have a longer life expectancy. ‘the ground work of all happiness is good healt’h – leigh hunt.
5) They won’t complain.
The outdoors can be unpredictable and as outdoor men and women, they are prepared for tough times and know that complaining doesn’t help anyone, or the situation. Instead they find ways to encourage and optimize the circumstances. They also don’t mind getting dirty, bruised, or scrapped up. ‘what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger’ – type attitude.
6) They like their ‘space’ and are independent.
They won’t want to spend every waking minute with you and will give you your space. They enjoy doing things on their own and learning from experience because, as stated, nature can be unpredictable and forces us to be independent in many situations. Though they will be stoked to have you as their ‘adventure buddy’ and will carry their own weight. ’in solitude the mind gains strength and learns to lean upon itself’ –laurence stern
7) They make the most out of their days.
There OK with waking up early and hitting the road to take advantage of as much daylight as possible, often feeling guilty if they miss a sunrise. They wont let their evenings, or days, go to waste. ‘today is not just another day. it is a new opportunity, another chance, a new beginning. embrace it’.
8) They are great travel companions.
On the road and on the trail, they are good with directions. The outdoors often presents us with difficult terrain that may be hard to navigate, or areas without cell reception, so understanding how to read a map and work a compass or GPS is key. They also are game for last minute adventures and enjoy long road trips. Just provide some good snacks, tunes, and laughter and they are good to go. They usually have a few good stories under their belt too. ‘live for the journey, not just the destination’. — dan eldon
9) They enjoy the simple life.
They would rather sleep in a sleeping bag under the stars than in luxurious 5 star hotel any day. A cottage in the woods is preferred over a million-dollar mansion in which they would spend minimal time anyway because they are too busy being outside. Their ‘perfect date’ would be to spend the day climbing a mountain, playing frisbee at the beach, or scaling the walls at in indoor climbing center, as opposed to spending it at a luxury spa – aka they are easier on your wallet. ‘it is the sweet simple things in life, that are the real ones afterall’ –laura ingalls wilder
Last but certainly not least:
10) They respect and appreciate nature.
They protect the world they play in, clean up after themselves, and leave only footprints wherever they go. They enjoy the sounds of nature and they won’t always talk your ear off while on the trail. They are advocates for our mother earth and support companies such as tentree, who are giving right back to Her. ‘the earth does not belong to man, the man belongs to earth’ – chief seattle
